Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Marrakech

Pick up at the airport and transfer to the Hotel/Riad to start our guided tour of the historical and cultural heritage of Marrakech, visiting: Jemaa el-Fna square, the old Medina, the Koutoubia mosque, the spice market, the souk and its mythical alleys. At night, the old square is filled with magic, smells, color, music — a pleasure for the senses. Accommodation a few minutes from the square. Accommodation in the Riad.


Day 2: Marrakech – High Atlas – Skoura – Dades Gorges

After breakfast, we will start our tour of the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the impressive Tizi n-Tichka pass, at an altitude of 2,300 meters. These Atlas Mountains are home to small adobe villages and the traditional life of its Berber inhabitants. We will start the route of the Thousand Kasbahs, passing through Skoura and the Valley of the Roses (El-Kelaa M’Gouna) through impressive palm groves and Berber villages. The Damascus rose is cultivated in this valley, where we will see how they make handmade products, creams, oils, rose water. Overnight in the Dades Valley.


Day 3: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga

After breakfast, we will continue our journey through the Sahara desert, crossing the colorful Berber villages to reach Tineghir, with its beautiful palm grove. Then we will continue to the Todra Gorges, where we will take a walk through the canyons of about 300 m high, a favorite place for mountain climbers. Then, we will set off for the dunes of Erg Chebbi, in the surroundings of Merzouga, and spend the night in a local hotel.


Day 4: Merzouga – Nomadic Families – Merzouga Desert

Breakfast and departure from the hotel. On the way we will pass through one of the tracks used in the Paris-Dakar Rally and also on the side of the dunes. Then you will pass through nomadic lands, the Berber people, in the village of Khamlia. Here you will find mines called “Mifiss”. The desert plateaus, the fields and the wonderful oasis of “Tamardanite”. Return to the hotel for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, we will take an exciting ride on camels to watch the desert sunset, until reaching Astendas. End with a very special night in nomad tents. After dinner to the sound of Berber music and under a splendid starry sky, you will sleep in nomad tents in the dunes.


Day 5: Merzouga Desert – Tazzarine – Ouarzazate

We will have to get up early to have breakfast and enjoy the sunrise. We return to the jeep to continue our journey. We cross the palm grove of Tafilalet and the historic city of Rissani, visiting the souk market, the largest in the region. We will pass through Alnif and continue through the Draa Valley and its extensive palm groves. In the late afternoon we will arrive in Ouarzazate, where we will have dinner and overnight.


Day 6: Ouarzazate – Marrakech

In the morning, we will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Film Studios. On our way to Marrakech, we will make a detour to visit the small village of Ait Ben Haddou where many famous movies have been filmed such as Gladiator and Aladdin. There we will see the famous Kasbah, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Then our tour will continue to Marrakech and end our 6 days Morocco tour from Marrakech.
